This trip begins every Friday from October to April from the Ancud Cruz del Sur Bus Station.
Day 1- transport to the stunning Pacific
Coast for few hours light hiking, arriving in the late afternoon
at the Puńihuíl Penguin Colony to take a boat ride excursion around the colony-
the only place in the world where Humbolt and
Magallanic penguins nest side by side. Night in comfortable cabins overlooking
the bay.
Day 2- Exploring the hidden bays and
majestic cliffs of the Pacific and then heading off on a 5 hour hike from Duatao
to Chepu
through native forests and along pristine beaches. By early evening we'll
arrive at the Mirador de Chepu Eco-Camp
and be greeted by our hosts Fernando and Amory. Night spent in cabin and
dinner overlooking the traqnquil beauty of the sunken forest of Chepu.
Day 3- Morning kayak excursion into the
sunken forest- home to over 100 species of birds (more than 25% of Chilean
species!).
Afternoon return to Ancud for transport to Puerto Montt to catch the Navimag
ferry or another night on the island.
